    For the majority of the year Platinum Australia has focused on completion of the Bankable Level Feasibility Study ("FS") on the Panton Platinum Palladium Project, located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. A significant part of this work has been the development and testing of the Panton Calcine - Leach - Metals Recovery Process ("Panton Process") a PGM recovery process which can produce enhanced recoveries and very high grade final concentrates from refractory ores such as Panton.

  • Results of the Panton Platinum Palladium Feasibility Study

    The Directors of Platinum Australia Limited ("PLA") have now received the preliminary results of the Feasibility Study carried out on the Panton Project. The results indicate that while the project is technically sound it is not commercially viable at the current metal prices and exchange rate.

  • Trading Halt

    The Board of Directors is in receipt of the Executive Summary in relation to the Panton Feasibility Study and, following assessment, will be reporting to ASX on the results within 48 hours. Accordingly, the Board of Platinum Australia Limited requests a trading halt of the Company's securities.

  • Lonmin PLC – Subscription For Shares – ASX Rule Waiver Granted

    Further to the announcement made by Platinum Australia Limited ("PLA") on 21 May 2003, the Directors are pleased to announce that the ASX has granted to PLA a waiver from Listing Rule 14.7 of the Listing Rules of the Australian Stock Exchange Limited, to the extent necessary to permit PLA to issue up to 66,750,000 ordinary fully paid shares in the PLA at an issue price of $0.60 per share to Lonmin Plc or its wholly owned subsidiary, as approved by shareholders of the Company on 21 August 2001, by no later than 30 September 2003.

    Platinum Australia Limited wishes to advise that Mr Albert Jamieson has resigned as a Director of the Company, effective 17 January 2003. Mr Jamieson was appointed as a Director of PLA in August 2001 as one of two representatives nominated by Lonmin. He has been replaced as a Lonmin representative by Mr Geoff Fenner, Executive Director of Lonmin Platinum.
